Well, you could try to watch the video as I show how to change the controls...
And yes, you DO have to change them.

Press Shift + F1 (or F2 up to F0) to save state, and just F1 (or F2 up to F0) to load that state again. So you can have up to 10 save states for each game. Don't worry about the language, I'm not the best at English either :-)
This was probably double posted too, I'm writing with my phone... :P

You probably need to go to File -> Open ROM then choose the rom, then NES -> Eject/Insert disk. Possibly use the Switch side.
If it doesn't work, you don't have the FDS-bios or the rom is corrupt. Get another one.
