Richard Davison has competed on British dressage teams for two decades and now brings his lovely horse, 'Artemis' to Olympia for the Grand Prix and the Kur. At only nine, this is the horse's first test at this level and first time in such an electric atmosphere. What a little star though, he looks the ultimate professional throughout and is definitely one to watch for the future! Richard rides to a specially arranged piece of music that was composed by Elton John.

  • reminds me of spirit when he went to the camp lol :)

  • Now that's how a horse should be ridden. I hope the judges start to reward correct horsemanship and a relaxed horse. A lovely prospect for the future :)

  • So lovely! A horse which does not whip its tail, a horse in front of the vertical line, at horse with at light concact to the bit and a lovely extended trot where the legs follow each other.

And i just love and Richard does not get angry over the fails the horse makes.

This kind of ridning should be rewarded - not those horses with whipping the tail, and extended trot where the horses legs are different places and the front legs almost smashes up in its head!

  • What breed is that horse?

  • His piaffe and pirouettes were flawless!!!

  • looks like a promising horse for the future =)

  • @vixitrixalina in every horse book I have ever read and to all the horses that I have see Dun and buckskin are different we would probably use one word if buskin and dun were the same color but American English is weird like that

  • @watersprite91 yeah i can see what you mean - in some lights he looks paler, but i think its because he's had a full clip.

im not sure about the black dorsal stripe - my friend has a dun pony but i dont think she has the stripe. i always thought it was the american/english term for the same thing. like painted and coloured. not sure about that :P

  • @vixitrixalina I think that I mistook him for being dun/ buckskin because its a video and some times I have a hard time distinguishing color of a horse on a computer screen

I believe the difference between dun and buckskin is that a dun horse will have a dark stripe down the center of the back and a buckskin doesn't but I can't remember

  • @veraverhoogt112 The two songs used by Elton John are: Can You Feel The Love Tonight, and I'm Still Standing.
