This album is the first box office hit of Ramsey Lewis.
Recording night for the trio is an event for Washington fans.
Here Ramsey Lewis swings with a touch of the blues in the chordal work.

  • Man! I first heard this song sitting on a bunker in Vietnam. It blew me away. I fell in love with Jazz after hearing Ramsey Lewis and the In Crowd.

  • grew up on almost only radio music when this came out. My fist exposure to what is called jazz,Ramsey,in crowd! What sruck me was the vibe and the feeling that I was there in the music. Never left me either! Now tonight Im '' in the in crowd again" Taught me about being in the moment, dynamics, and creating a place where every one that shares their love is THE IN CROWD!!! Thank you Ramsey and drummer and bass .My love and blessings to you. Mario Aranda

  • simply beautiful.. real musicians at the top of their game.

  • Ramsey likes Chateau Y, the dry wine of Yquem. A stunning wine!

  • I still have a vinyl copy; this is most def a "shipwrecked on an island" LP for me.

  • It was Red Holt on drums-

best cool jazz trio of the era!!!!!!

  • I think it was Maurice White on drums here in the Ramsey Lewis trio, before he started Earth, Wind and Fire with his brother, the amazing bass player Verdine White in 1970

  • @cnordan55 respect!!!!!

  • This song is better than good...dang...sit back with a big glass of my favorite wine...

Abrbor Mist Blackberry Merlot...and enjoy...maybe play it again and have another glass...

  • makes me wanna dance around the room even at fifty, white and no rhythm i wanna get down. all it needs is the great jimmy saville talking about stealing points off listeners for getting song titles wrong.these were the days !! goodness gracious ladies and gentlemen !!

  • Found inside a book as though it was written there once before:

All there is to life is rhythm and sound-no more-no less. An this be true and me thinks it is, we present a little life. We'll see you tomorrow at our time and our place. And remember--

Bye Bye, buy bonds, save chicken fat and for goodness sake enjoy all the beautiful women out there!

(Allen Scott WHOT Radio DJ Youngstown, Ohio 1967). The above lines were his closing comments at the end of his show each night with this song.

  • @cnordan55 Did you see any fighting?
