@bruinsjester The book itself isn't racist, some of the characters are, which is true to the time and place. Stephen King based most of the Castle Rock stories on experiences he had in his own hometown, so while the racism sucks, it's not because the book or the author is racist. It's there for realism, nothing more.

Makes you wonder what is the worse of evil...the 'clown' or the humans responsiblity for their own evils. I love how this story tells of how the kids had to fight their own evils which reflects the dark times of the 50s. I love love love the book and the mini series was very much enjoyed.
