The Mellotron is an old electromechanical instrument from the 60s that uses analog tape as its sound source. There were many different models made. I have two M400s at the Roth Händle studios and 11 tape frames with atleast three sounds on every frame.

The Mellotron was used by bands such as the Beatles, King Crimson, Moody Blues, Genesis, Yes, Led Zeppelin, Oasis just too mention a few.
