Interesting. Direct sound from the machine's output would have been nice, though.

This and the Drumtraks were the first really affordable sample-based drum machines.

It's been used by Depeche Mode on Some Great Reward & Construction Time Again, some of it's Samples were tweaked with the Synclavier I think!!!

Aww the memories. I used to have one of these - unreliable little f**ker that it was ! Great sounds though. I think it got heavily used on one of Depeche Mode's albums - I seem to remember "Everything Counts" having a Drumulator in it. Thanks for posting this qahtani :-)

wow thanks looks like i got to crate dig for that fresh prince snare

Those are all different snares that are samples, no drum machines. Cube is 'The Five Stairsteps & Cubie - Don't Change Your Love. Salt N Pepa is a snare from the break in Lyn Collins - Think. As far as the Fresh Prince theme...?

i need some help identifying some old school snare sounds,
i was wondering if anyone could help me, the snares could be heard in these 3 old school songs:
ice cube "a bird in the hand"
fresh prince " fresh prince of bel aire theme song"
salt n pepa " push it"
what drum machine did these snares come from if anyone knows please share the knowledge id appreciate it . i know its got to be from a late 80's early 90's machine

the sp 12 has the same drums in it no?

No. The SP12 is a sampler, and its stock sounds are different than the Drumulator's.

isn't the E-Mu drumulator II a sampler too?

The Drumulator II was the prototype for what would later become the SP12. Much of the systems are actually identical.
