I can't believe what I am hearing from news channel hosts about muslim country comments and scenes from Palestine. Turkey is not a muslim country, Turkey is a democratic secular country, whatever its some people believe in has nothing to do with country's title. We have lots of Atheists in Turkey as well

It might not be "bounded" by religion in a legal sense, and Turkey is among the most liberal Muslim countries, but there are millions of more traditionally-minded Turks who plainly would not approve of women engaging in this kind of activity.
