He's saying the problem is is that people don't know when to use apostrophe's with its. Now I could care less on this topic but irregardless to say, its quite important.

errr.. It's not arbitrary at all - at least not in this case. But it IS confusing.
Possessive "its" not taking an apostrophe makes complete sense if you consider that ALL possessive pronouns in English are separate structures and don't have apostophes: Yours, His, Hers, Ours, Theirs - would you spell it "Her's" our "Our's"? (I'm actually horrified that some people are beginning to).
Unlike the others, "it's" has a separate meaning so people get confused,
I know this has NOTHING to do with the context of your video, but I really love that you used "Maple Leaf Rag" :)
