@Seven12Stay Carl Maria Von Weber.

@kyleclef Actually, this piece was originally for viola, but Weber changed it to bassoon.

He makes this seem so easy... !

he doesn't seem too happy when he finishes the piece....

@frenchbassoon awww i see! well its not in the viola arrangement, he must have studied the bassoon original aswell... :) and oooh that should be good, if viola was my main instrument, i would want to play this, but given the chance to play a concerto, it would have to be the tchaikovsky piano concerto no. 1 :) good luck with it!

@kyleclef I simply agree

I can't speak for the viola, but the bassoon part *does* have that scale at the end. In any case, it may be hard, but it's so much fun! I'm hoping I can convince the local community band director to do the bassoon/band arrangement of it at some point.
If he were just performing the piece with the orchestra as a guest it would be expected that he would play from memory, but he is also actually conducting the ensemble. The music may be more for the benefit of little notes written to himself so that he knows where to cue the orchestra. Also the sheer amount of repertoire he cranks out makes it almost impossible to memorize everything.

Miserable audience...I would have stood up for that! Also, you have to try this piece to appreciate how bloody difficult it is! Plus he puts in little harder bits...like that huge scale at the end...its not actually written in the score.
