We take a closer look at how the University of Melbourne will play a big role in Australia's fortunes at the Olympics, from athletes competing in sports as diverse as rowing, fencing and modern pentathlon, to staff helping keep the world's showjumpers' horses in peak condition.

MODERN pentathlete Angie Darby made a shocking error in the 200m freestyle today, stopping halfway through her race.
It appeared she had misjudged the distance, however modern pentathlon spokeswoman Frances Cordaro denied Darby stopped because she thought the race had ended.
