@gsilvamartins I bought this on dvd a few years ago after originally taping from the tv onto VHS in the early 1990s. It IS a very good movie, although I do feel it is a bit unnecessarily long ; it does slow down here and get bogged down with more political arguments and 'talky' bureaucratic conflict than it needs to

@beetlejuice2001 Is Juntion City near Lucasville or Mansfeld? I knew this movie was shot in Ohio..I always wondered if it was filmed at the Ohio State Penitentiary or was it at another place? Thanks.

@MikeAM78 Yeah Mike. This is one of the BEST movies I've seen. Dad and I got frozen at every second watching the film. We both agree in many changes the prison system need, and watching this movie made us discuss a lot about this. Great movie!!!

Quite a shit trailer though... But trailers are often not great: either they spoil the movie (this one does, in my opinion) or they don't give you a strong enough feeling that it would be a good movie you'd like because there's not enough from the film in it ;)

This movie was filmed in Junction City, Ohio. Today the prison is no longer here but everybody knows of the movie around here. The part where the bar shoot out goes on like 5 miles away in another town called New Lexington the bar name in the movie was called "Pinky's" it was really called that at the time of the movie too. Today its a pizza shop called Pizza Place. The Old prison was located on a road called Adcock Road. Lots of the same scenes can still be seen just as it looked in the movie.

Finally!! Way back in the late-80s or so, I spent the night at my grandparents' house and remembered them watching this prison movie on TV. Had been trying to ID it ever since, once I was able to figure out it had been Redford who was the star. All I could remember was the prison setting and a scene where he finds a little box device that was used for electric shock. That's in this movie, right? If so, I'm glad I finally figured it out. Will have to rent it now to see the whole thing.
