The making of "Handel: Arie per basso" CD (2009, Naive)
Lorenzo Regazzo, bass
Concerto Italiano, conductor Rinaldo Alessandrini.
Oratorio del Gonfalone, Rome, March 2008

Zoroastro

English translation

An inauspicious storm rises,
darkening sky and sea,
but then a propitious star shines
and makes all hearts rejoice.
Sometimes a strong man can err,
but when he has seen the error of his ways,
what once brought him sorrow
causes him boundless delight.

  • Shows that a Bass can be just as agile as a Tenor! Awesome! :)

  • Bravissimo Lorenzo!

  • I like his voice !

  • besides the conductor looking a little bored, I love it!

  • Oh, I want to see this singer perform live!

  • This is absolutely brilliant!

  • He is amazing! It's exceedingly rare to have a bass with that kind of coloratura.

  • He's very good. Very skillful. Nice solid tone.
