The multi-talented Richard Armitage--actor, dancer, musican, artist--played Claude Monet as a younger man in the 2006 mini-series "The Impressionists."
These lovely images of an incandescently beautiful Richard seemed to work perfectly with the haunting music, "First Impressions" from the album "Appalachian Waltz" featuring the wizardry of cellist Yo-Yo Ma. And guess what one of the several instruments RA has played is? Yep, a cello. :D

  • I'm missing our gorgeous man ...Thought I would watch some of my fav vids today...This is one...Richard at his most beautiful, truly adorable, the music is perfect just like the man. Thanks Angie (oh by the way it makes me cry everytime)

  • @julesra1

Richard is simply incandescent playing this role. You believe he is the passionate artist who lives to paint. His eyes are so beautiful and those grins . . . how can you not love his Monet? And that scene where he is cupping his wife's belly . . . *sigh*.

  • Beautiful pairing of music and photos - - well done! His role as Monet really cries out for classical music for a fanvid. I especially love the shots of his lovely, graceful hand on Camille's pregnant belly. I do so hope that he has a family of his own one day1

  • @janiwi52

I, too, hope he has a family of his own. I often find myself in my fanfic giving him wives and children because I think he would be such a wonderful father--he seems to enjoy his nephew so much and I have always been impressed by the instances he has played a dad on screen. I want him to have a happy personal life--and those marvelous genes also need to be passed on! :D

  • @angieklong Amen to that! I love his CBeebies stories and have thought many times about what a great dad he'll be. I have read some of your fanfic, Angie, and I'm a fan of that, too. You and I have a lot in common, I think, though you're much more talented and techie than I am. Keep up the good work!

  • @janiwi52

Oh, thank you! I am taking a little hiatus from fanfic writing (RL demands) and this vidding is providing a perfect outlet for me and a chance to learn something new. However, I am SO not a techie. Just learning through trial and error. If I can do this, truly anybody can!! My husband is amazed. "I once couldn't get you on a computer, and now I have to pry you off!" LOL Between work needs and RA, my skills have increased. ;) LOVE the CBeebies!

  • Brilliant piece of music

  • You've got it Angie...most of Richard's roles are quite serious so when you see those little smirks , smiles and grins you just know it's Richard in there! Words can't describe what his eyes do to me and as for his hands.........*big sigh*......

  • @ThePhylly3

    Oh, Phylly, thanks!

My background is actually in Art Ed and one of my favorite schools is Impressionism. Match that with my favorite actor and this gorgeous music I stumbled across on iTunes and how can you go wrong?? And I have to admit, I cried while I was making it. Sometimes, beautiful things touch me in a way they make me cry.

  • This is so Beautiful! I wish you had made it for me -- for the FanstRAvaganza! Love the music and the pictures are just right! He looks so luminous it is breaktaking! You almost brought me to tears.
