My Favorite Steely Dan Song Of All Time... This song is TOTAL PERFECTION....
-
"I cried when I wrote this song, sue me if I play too long..."
Can it be said any better than that?

Would be great idea (dunno if you did that already) but i am happy anyway:
Thank u for posting this and all those other Steely Dan tracks!
The phrase `sue me if i play too long` is well worth cheering, but
It follows the phrase `i cried when i wrote this song` which really chills my spine somhow.
Thanks again,
Daan

hi, before you had a link to download the audio for this, still available?

I really wish they didn't tear down Poplar Creek. Loved the outdoor venue and didn't get to see enough great bands there, although I did see Chicago. Would have loved to see this concert

'AJA' is definitely one of their BEST! Every Steely Dan fan remembers what he/she felt like the first time they listened to 'AJA'

i was there. My first SD concert. I just had my second son and this night I will never forget.....

Please don´t forget: Fagens lyrics are cynical in the highest degree: The character he describes looses himself in a romantic cliche: playing saxophone, drinking whisky, die behind the wheel ...

Love it. I graduated from High Skool on that Popular Creek stage. Barrington (IL) High, class of 1989. This is one of the Dan's best.

I love the vibe of the audience. The moment when Donald sings "sue me if I play too long" and everybody cheers is sensational!

Wow! I was at this concert. You are correct about the vibe with the crowd. They applauded solos (and sections of their songs) like it was a jazz concert. Also, the immortal Roger Nichols was running the monitors for the band that night. This concert is one I will never forget.

I have the whole concert in video but the image quality is so-so (as you can see).
Do you think it would be a good idea to post it in Youtube?
