I am posting two videos when sirens were sounding this afternoon. Then videos from my livingroom. I ran out of memory on my camera and was uploading when the storm hit midtown. Wind was so strong I could not be on my balcony. I looked into the Midtown Crossing construction area. Some supplies were flying through the air. There was 0 visibility. Hail came onto my balcony. Water also leaked in on my carpet from sliding door and windows adjoining. I have lived in Omaha since the mid 60s. I have never seen wind like this. Over 70mph winds. Severe damage to trees in Omaha area. Power out in thousands of homes. This happened when people were at Memorial Park for the concert and fireworks. Art exhibition affected in downtown Omaha. Tents overthrown. Damage to Qwest Center. Fortunately, no severe injuries yet reported in Omaha.

  • By any chance, do you remember the '75 tornado?

    Oh, and nice video.

  • Do I ever! I was at the University of NE at Omaha book store huddled in a corner with other students. We had a radio we were listening to. Fortunately, it missed UNO by several blocks.
