  • no it wasn't it was an adder i had to go to hospital and they didnt have a clue what to do so they phoned the poisons unit at greys and i had to have the anti venom they put me in the re-suss room and had adrenalin shots ready in case my blood pressure dropped, i was allowed home 24 hours later and in bed for 4 days with my arm in traction the glands under my arm were the size of a tennis ball, i think i learnt my lesson.........until next time. i know now to pick it up closer to the head.

  • suck it out?!! thats the worst thing you can do!

  • That defintely was an adder. But you did just about everything wrong that you could do for the bite. Don't try to suck the venom out as the fangs at not straight, so the venom will not be in the bite area. Also never stop blood circulation, just relax (reduce speed of blood flow) and elevate the wound area above your heart! you're lucky you had no further damage!

  • It's hard to tell what snake it is due to the camera guy not getting a steady look of the pattern of the snake.

  • Serve the man right - he got what he deserved, manhandling that poor snake the way he did. I trust he sought treatment at the nearest A & E Department. Congratulations to the adder - you did what comes naturally in circumstances like this. I see plenty of adders in this area, mostly on the Malvern Hills, often close to ferms, as in this clip. I am always wary of my little dog disturbing an adder dozing in the sun - a number of dogs have been killed by adder bites in the UK this year.

  • Its a Grass Snake, real Adders are bigger and have black zig zags on them...this bloke is just an attention seeking numpty..

  • I love how he things it is an adder, and it isn't, so he is putting all of the pain on, i have been bitten, it is nothing

  • Grass snake not adder

  • That will teach you to mess with snakes
