Model built by Brian Elvidge.
Visit http://www.selmec.org.uk for information on this and over 500 other models!

This model is described in Geoff Wright's Book "The Meccano Super Models", 1978, under SML 11 and 11A depending which version was constructed.

This is the later K set model of 1937-41 using strip plates in the base unit. The model uses a 1950's Meccano E20R motor. This model was designed for a side plate motor of this type. The K set instructions show a late E6R or an E20B motor.

It features a balanced crankshaft, a valve motion driven from an eccentric on the crankshaft, and a realistic governor.

With careful building the model works well and is an old favourite with the builder.
