  • Ho yuh! Win! Shostakovich really knew how to make time stand still. There is something distinctly Mahlerian about this symphony--- I love it! I have fond memories of taking extensive walks in the dead of night time listening to this on my mp3 player. This is a great performance. You should check out Slava Rostropovich's LSO Live recording. Thanks for uploading! :D

  • @GustafNeilsonViolin I do have that recording, but I prefer Rozhdestvensky's Shostakovich - the 7th is a bit dodgy though. I may upload it anyway.

    Likewise, I only first got an appreciation of this piece in total darkness.
