@ApprenticeNick The first one is obviously an wire, he holds the wire with the right hand until the ring enters his arm.

The second one, you can see him he flips a switch withe the left hand exactly when he covers the laser beam.

@ApprenticeNick also if you look closely, he adjusts the laser in the first trick, not too much but enough. makes you're explanation seem a bit more probable.

@ApprenticeNick the first one could also possibly be a wire. the fine line as you put it is probably being supported by the mirrors. good eye!

How he did it:

1) He tossed it at an angle so that it looked like it slid down the laser.

2) There was already a very fine line hung on the right side (not sure how it was supported; probably by another fine line). He hung the coat hanger onto the line. That's why it stayed when he put his hand through the left side, but it snapped when he forced his hand through the right.

3) A green light on his thumb that he turned on and off.

4) Reflectors on his fingers, and a LOT of practice.
