Profile of Noshir Kaka, Director, McKinsey & Company

Noshir Kaka is a Director in McKinsey and Company and the global leader of its Outsourcing and Offshoring practice. He also heads McKinsey's Business Technology Office in India.

After joining the Firm in 1994, he worked in South Asia, US, UK and India. Noshir has assisted many companies in the areas of strategy development, organisational restructuring and operational performance improvement. His experience includes:

Building and jointly executing an offshoring strategy for one of the top- 5 U.S. banks. This included, scoping the opportunity, selecting the site, establishing the governance and project management teams, defining the offshore programme management methodology and supporting rollout and execution.

Leading the development of three McKinsey-NASSCOM reports on current trends and future initiatives for the IT and BPO sectors in India.

Conceiving and leading one of the largest benchmarking of service centres globally. The methodology entitled P360 has currently been deployed at over 65 sites globally across operations, IT and support functions.

Developing an offshore partnership strategy for one of the largest global software product companies including balancing in-house capabilities vs. outsourcing, vendor management principles and talent management in an offshore environment.

In addition, Noshir was actively involved in the creation of the Indian School of Business, which is a joint initiative between McKinsey, Wharton, and Kellogg to build a world-class business school in India.
