Itching Ears and the Futility of Sinful Pride

Certain people grasp every title they can get their hands on...even "King." We need to be sure we're HUMBLE before God. Pride can sneak up very easily and be the cause for a fall, but a fall is never pleasant, and I'm not talking about the season.

God opposes (resists) the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Let's be humble and also discerning for people promoting a 'gut spiel' that isn't actually the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus did not die so you could be a millionaire.
Jesus did not die so you could be the most popular person in the world.
Jesus did not die so you could ignore those who NEED the most help.
Jesus died for the sin of the world.

Jesus did not humble Himself so we could exalt OURSELVES.
Jesus was our example, and we're called to be humble servants who love the LORD and others wholeheartedly. We are to consider others better than ourselves. It's not sinful to fulfill your calling and for others to honor that appropriately, but to lord it over others in a narcissistic way is absolutely sinful. At the same time, in any discernment, we need to be humble and prayerful and careful that we do not fall into sin in the process.

why are so many people confused about Christianity some dif and say it is a contradicting belief because of the word they follow some say their belief is right and christianity is wrong i mean why is there so much deception if christianity is so true

repent and believe is referring to those who thought Jesus was not the real messiah,they need to repent of there unbelief,after he saves us and make us born again we know those sins that we commit are what put him in the cross which leads to godly sorrow,2Corinthians7:10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret,but worldly sorrow brings death.he will do what we cannot Philippians1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it out

...that being said I think that pride can be actually very positive and very important thing, but of course only in its positive meanings...

So yep, that's why I think that terminology can create some confusion sometimes...but the overall point is clear :)

Nice speech! However the terminology might creates a bit of confusion...I've noticed that in English language term "pride" is used almost only in a negative context.

While for example in Serbian term pride("ponos") is pretty broad, it ranges from completely positive feeling such as feeling proud of yourself when you do something noble, or being proud of your brother/sister/friend etc...to completely negative feelings such as insolent defiance and a refusal of forgiveness for small mistakes.
