Dr. Sulayman Nyang speaks at forum on "Creeping Sharia" myth, Chevy Chase, MD, 9/24/11

A forum organized by the Montgomery Civil RIghts Coalition and former state delegate Saqib Ali was held on 9/24 in the context of a private appearance, later in the day, by ex-Congressman Fred Grandy -- a leading purveyor of Islamophobia and the 'creeping Shariah' myth -- at a Chevy Chase Republican women's club. Speakers at our forum included Saqib Ali, student activist Elizabeth Lakew, State Senator and constitutional law professor Jamie Raskin, Shahid Buttar (BORDC), Professor Sulayman Nyang (Howard U.), and Corey Saylor (CAIR).

@zeproo -- Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but who says any of us want to do anything about "expanding western influence" in Saudi Arabia or elsewhere? Our principal concern is bigotry in this country -- not reforming other countries, let alone opposing reforms there.

On the other hand; operation Westernisation of Arabia is underway. Lift ban on driving, and so on. The western influence is expanding and there's nothing you can do.
