man its stupid to compare clash and rancid like that, different bands. And cant people just appreciate this as a tribute and kind gesture on the part of rancid without completely screwing it up with comparisons and trivial arguments, its a matter of respect really.

Bands competing with each other is totally against the spirit of punk rock. Rancid and The Clash, mutual respect all round. Stop the fucking comparisons, appreciate them both and start using your energies for things that are worthwhile like fighting racism, poverty etc.

I love rancid and the clash and i think it was a nice gesture of rancid be appart of " death or glory" :)

i respect joe strummer and the clash as much as rancid showed love to them.

I know the spirit of punk rock was diversity and inclusivity AND originality. Rancid hijacked the appearance of punk rock and brought nothing new to the table. Ask John Lydon's opinion of Rancid - I'm sure it wouldn't be favorable. Just because I think Rancid are a punk rock ripoff band doesn't mean I like Nickelback, nosering douche. I actually saw the Clash live twice posers. If you're gonna imitate punk rock, then go beyond the Sid Vicious posing.

@TheRealCritique Get a clue skippy, you know nothing about music. Go back to your Sum 41 and Nickelback and follow all the other wanna be losers out there. Punk cover band, thats laughable. You are an oxygen thief.

very fitting im glad they did this, no one could have done it better

Rancid is an appropriate name - they stink...you cant compare Rancid and the Clash - that's ridiculous. Rancid are a punk cover band, period.

One of my anticipated stops on my NY trip. Very excited to see Joe.

The Rancid without the Clash wouldn't never exist
