The reading was hypnotic. She's really an awesome poet. I viewed this to somewhat get little bits as inputs for me to write my own.

wow, you couldn't even come up with a decent response to my comment so you had to snoop through my "profiule" to attack me? c'mon, be honest with YOUR own understanding of poetics and stick to the damn point, which is lyn hejinian to remind you, not my profile. you're a moron.

i agree with wigbomb about that being a moronic thing to say. reducing somebody to "the best line they've ever written" - it's like a perversion of capitalism sloppily applied to poetics - "what's her most commodify-able line?" poetry is not capitalist commodity and she's not penning hallmark cards so stop being an idiot and asking for her best-selling line. what kind of poetry do you like anyway? and can you prove what you like about that poetry by selling us a line of theirs? i don't buy it.

We've all got our "honest" intentions and understanding when writing and reading. What is the point in arguing those intentions (via YouTube?). I'm just wondering how you can expect one to pick "the best line", from Lyn or any other poet. That is a line on the run.

What a moronic thing to say. Whether you like Hejinian - one of the most challenging poets working - or loathe her and all Language poetry, there's no excuse for such insensitivity.
