  • buells are supposed to be awesome with torque. their top speed is only like 150mph but their superior tourqe makes up for it. I'm gettin a buell firebolt as soon as i get my army bonus.

  • how are buells in torque? Are Beulls good off the line?

  • Buells are all about the low end: Low end torque, low end weight & low end sound. With a v-twin, you're after torque anyway. If top speed is your thing, it's all about the inline 4's. Besides, where can you go 150 without risking your life or life savings due to the ticket, impound fees & bail? At least with the low end pull, you can have fun up to the speed limit...=-D

  • "only 150." Funny. Naked bikes can get a bit unruly much beyond that anyway.

The twisties are where the Buell really performs. fat bottom torque delivers well controlled power.

Just did an Hawk exhaust and K&N intake change on my XB12Ss. Even with my fat butt on it, the front end wants to come up more easily than it did before. Wonder what it will do if I lose 100 pounds.

  • The cool thing about having choices is that those choices can accommodate the varied desires of every buyer. For me, my XB12Ss was the best choice. All the power I'll ever need and didn't break the bank getting it.

  • @fishgutzy yeah, get a ducati or Aprillia and you can have best of both worlds. RSV-4 makes low end torque, and its not an engine designed in 1910.

  • Nothing but Buell fans in here, I'm loving it!

I'll admit I was a former Japanese crotch rocket lover,

then I converted to Triumph and their wonderful triples,

    now I'm a Buell devotee.

    It's the only way.

  • What's more important? Being to go 189 Miles per hour on the highway, or have a bike with a ton of torque and a bike that handles like a much smaller bike?

I bought a Buell XB12Ss in April this year. Absolutely love it. 0-80 in about 4 seconds.

Enough torque to lift the front end up if every gear if you are into that sort of foolishness.

    Can't Buell for innovation.

NSH, Thanks for your service. You'll love the Buell.

Another point. The Buell 1125R and 1125CR beat the ZX14 in hp to Lbs ratio.
