Miracles do Happen - AA Plane Crash

KINGSTON, Jamaica — More than 150 people onboard an American Airlines flight to Jamaica were lucky to be alive after their rain-drenched plane ripped apart and skidded within 15 feet of collapsing into the roiled waters of the Caribbean Sea on December 22nd, 2010.

How can it be a miracle if a FUCKING PLANE CRASHED? Not to mention that 90 people were injured! It's a miracle when a 40 year old plane never has an accident or mechanical failure.

just an fyi to everyone who doesn't know, it's not the brakes and tires that stop the plane on the runway, it's the reverse thrust crated by the engines. "rain soaked runway" is not the cause for concern or the accident, it's the fact that BOTH engines failed, it's incredibly rare but it does happen and the brakes on the landing gear are not capable of slowing the plane on a dry surface let alone a rain soaked one. Without thrust to stop, the aircraft should have crashed and burned.

@mortalkombatplayable No, there were no deaths or a fire. But these people were put through the trauma and misfortune of their PLANE CRASHING, and many of them were INJURED. That's NOT a miracle. As I stated above, a true miracle would be if a plane had seen no maintenance for decades and never had a single problem.

Please don't be too negative about this plane crash. The pilot did a good job in saving all the lives on that plane! come on people, I know the word "crash" is always negative, but at least try and give the pilot some credit!

sorry, thats not a miracle, dats boeing, and the work of dozens of engineers and capable people that build the most popular aircraft in the world, added to several coincidences that caused this incident, theres no miracle at there.

A miracle is the suspension of natural effects which govern the world as we experience it. This result here is completely explicable by applying a knowledge of physics and human behaviour available to Newton. Merely asserting that a miracle has happened does not make it so. It seems that really, there are no miracles, just observed phenomena for which we have not yet discovered the explanation. "Miracle" is a convenient label to put on something (usually in our own favour !) not understood.

The miracle is in that nobody was killed! All that fuel, broken wings, broken fuselage, careening off the runway! Everybody lives and people still don't see a miracle. Really?
