She just wants to help her children out.
Either that or she's just keeping her 'throne room' tidy.

@ashsatoshi Are these the same as the Formicidae Atta ants that are in the Book "Things" and more "Things" By Ivan T. Sanderson
These are the ants that say that the queen will just up and dissappear to a different location when they are covered up with dirt after the queens chamber has been opened.
The book states that the queen will not do anything if the chamber is opened but if the chamber is opened and then recovered or sealed than with in a couple of minutes the queen will up

from Mexico and South these Queen Ants come out by the thousands and have wings. then drop the wings and start new colonies. same as what you got here.
People in Central America catch these "delicacies" cut of the abdomens off and ROAST them on a Hot plate then eat them like roasted peanuts. good way to reduce population of Ants in So. Am. as they destroy entire Forests.
Cheers.

that container is a little small

@garizable It has a good size. If it's too big the level of humidity gets too low. There must be a proportion between fungus' and container's volumes.
