There's a useful comparison of 2.4GHz radio systems on RCModelReviews and the XPS is definitely not "top-shelf" when compared to the other big-name brands. I'd advise that its use is restricted to small foamies and sport models where a loss of control isn't likely to hurt the public or your wallet.
