Rock Band 3 Expert Pro Guitar - Walk of Life by Dire Straits

3 stars... with practice this should be FC-able since the solos are simple pentatonic licks, but I hate that jump from the neck to the 14th fret.

This is a great practice song because it's a 1-4-5 chord progression and you get to move the E5, A5 and B5 power chord fingerings around the fretboard.

So, if I may ask... Do you downstrum or alt-strum this song?

The chords seem more natural for me to alt-strum, but all the string crossing in the little licks makes downstrumming easier for those. Do you mix the two?

@machetemonkey I alt-strum this entire song (except open chords at beginning) mainly because I was trained to alt-strum everything, even the little licks before chord change like those runs 2-2-0-0-4-0-2-0-0 on the low E and A strings. I couldn't imagine trying to down strum those only. I know in this video I sucked at those parts, but I'm a lot better since I recorded this, lol.

I bet if you played it like Mark the game would tell you it's wrong. look at all those e5's, in reality you're alternating between clawing the fifth and octave, playing the bass note with the thumb, and also playing the sixth with the thumb. this is a fingerpicking song.

Great song! Thanks for letting us see it. Keep up the good work. I hope they come out with "Sultans of Swing" on pro guitar. That's one of my favorites.
