Stephen king got the idea of cujo because he himself was attacked by a saint bernard on a back road he also said he still upset that dee wallace did not get a oscar for her performance she did all her stunts with the dog it was really her she did get hurt on the scence when she broke threw the glass of the car she had glass in her arm she needed stiches and they used about 8 dogs in the movie trained to do certain things growling, jumping threw windows etc.
