The original Captain Coconut was the result of two different Hendrix takes being merged together. I have attempted to make my own composite my merging four different takes. I have used the following tracks:
Up to 3:05 is the original Captain Coconut
3:06 to 4:14 is Trash Man
4:15 to 7:09 is Cherokee Mist (1968 version)
7:11 to end is The New Rising Sun (1968 version}
Since Captain Coconut is originally a fake track I don't see any problems with me making my own. I actually think its flows nicely but of course that's only my opinion and I'm sure many will disagree.

  • Where is the version of trash man from? Itsounds different from the Midnight Lightning, as well as the last two; is it a bootlrg? Very cool stuff.

  • @chicagorockr This version of Trash Man is from the album ''Hear My Music'' which was released a few years ago.

  • On the original "Crash Landing " LP There was a song I cant think of the name of, the lyrics were: I want to love you so much till I just cant extend it, want to love you so strong till you got this thing hanging........Old mother Hubbard went to her cupboard lord to get her poor dog a bone, when she bent over Rover took over, cuz you know he had a bone of his own....I've got to find the original, it's been out of oprint more than 25 years, I was told!
