  • juice takes no shit in this movie, however if you pause it at 3m16s you can see a bloody glove hanging out of his pocket.

  • @leafyutube That's probably one of the mistakes. How can William Holden know that the fire was on floor 81 when nobody told him?

  • @4:10, how did William Holden know the fire was in a storage room on 81? Newman didn't even mention that.

  • Anybody notice the ironic painting on the wall at 1:24 just before he opens the door?

  • I don't think they had the "STOP, DROP AND ROLL" teaching. I guess it was just "stay calm until someone puts you out".

  • I wanna be a fireman.

  • The electronic panels you see being used were used in Voyage, Time Tunnel, Planet of the Apes, Land of the Giants. There's a Time Tunnel video here that actually shows the real IBM computers. I'm not certain but the fire alarm lights on the panel on the 81st floor looks reminiscent of what they used in the Batcave in the Adam West Batman.

  • Back in 1972, I had to do that for real. A fire broke out in the apartment next to ours. My Mother managed to get to the elevator and make it to the lobby but I was typing a term paper in the back of our apartment and by the time I made it out the door the corridor was full of smoke, I couldn't see to get out. There was a standpipe cabinet there & I took the hose and played the water from the hose on the door of the apartment next to ours where the fire broke out. The firemen came 10 min later.

  • "I think it's under control".

  • @coolwafferman I agree im sure part of him did love her, but not half as much as he loved himself and he was the cost of the lives of 200 people and really got his just deserts in the end and if i was her i wouldn't have lost any sleep over it. I thought William Holden was gonna get washed out the window at the end, in that dramatical last scene where they blew up the water tanks, though im sure part of him wanted to be dead, as he too had to shoulder lot of the blame for the tragedy.

  • @MeBenHalpin He was so evil in this movie, and his wife loved his evil-cowardly ass even though he was basically the cost of those 200 people. He got what he deserved. I'm surprised his father-in-law played by William Holden didn't die in the end.
