Mercury doesn't seem to have any announcers who know how to pronounce Marquis. It is pronounced like markeey, or markee. These are great cars. My 2008 Grand Marquis will haul as, run on 87, and average 27 to 28 miles per gallon of gas or flex fuel. It has tight, but quick and responsive power steering. Very roomy and comfortable. It may not go as fast as a corvette, but it gets better gas mileage and can haul a whole lot more stuff.
