TEENAGER TAKEN PRISONER BY KNIFE-WIELDING ROBBER

A terrified teenage shop assistant fears for his life as he taken prisoner and has a knife held to his throat during a vicious armed robbery.

Richard Halford, 19, was grabbed in a head lock by the hoodie who then held the blade to his adams apple said: ''Move and Ill slice you.'' The robber even flashed a chilling grin to the CCTV cameras as accomplices snatched the contents of a till.

Today/yesterday(wed) heart stopping footage of the raid at a Co-op shop in Bury was issued by Greater Manchester Police as Richard spoke of his ordeal.

Mr Halford, of Little Lever, near Bolton, said: ''I thought it was a joke at first, until I realised we were at knifepoint. One of them grabbed me from behind and I felt something sharp across my neck. My legs went weak.

'''I had my back to the door and all I heard was it slamming open. The next we knew, two guys came barging in asking us to take the tills off. Once I saw Craigs face drop, I knew it was serious.''

''It was unbelievably scary. If he slipped I could have been a gonner. I jump every time I hear a door open now. I just want to know who they are and to ask them why they did it and whether we have served them before.''
