What is Sparkling Science?

Imagine you have a bottle filled with sparkling water. Now imagine the water to represent the aggregate of all scientific knowledge, the sparkles to represent the different scientific disciplines, and the bottle to represent the border between the academic and the non-academic parts of society. As the amount of new scientific discoveries has been growing exponentially during the last few decades, the bottle of sparkling science has been fiercely shocked, giving rise to increasingly interdisciplinary and globally anchored research. The product we like to call kinetic energy of knowledge. Now what would happen if you opened the lid to such a bottle? We'd like to know and hopefully you would too...

Sparkling Science constitutes a media platform where researchers and journalists can interact seamlessly on a global scale. By promoting transparency and open debate it is our mission to contribute to a more nuanced dialogue between science and the public.

A beta version of Sparkling Science website will be launched in november this year under the swedish domain www.sparklingscience.se
