This is the little sidequest you can do to get Mog on your team. Mog is pretty cool and is widely considered the Final Fantasy VI mascot.

Out of all the ones I've played it is, but there's quite a few spin-offs I haven't played so I can't say with 100% certainty.

Well you're supposed to try and help Mog. I've managed to always save Mog at this part and am not sure how the mechanics work for getting the item instead.

you can get mog in the world of ruin by going to the moogle hideout and talking to him there. idk if he'll still join you if you take the gold hairpin though, as tbh, i don't even remember this scene.

It depends on whoever you walk towards. If you walk to Lone Wolf then you get the Gold Hairpin. If you walk towards Mog you get him. You might also need to press the action button (B on SNES and X on PS2).

Mog's theme song is my favorite character's theme. Relm is second, and Locke is third.
