I really love this song and its overall message. The chorus insinuates that the world has put violence and anger at its forefront, pushing the loving people underground. He then points out that most rap these days is about cars, girls, money and this world, but not this song. Instead of a loud booming hook and a dope ass beat, Lupe instead simply spits some real opinions over a chill beat and I love that. His lyrics feel very real and organic to me as he talks about his family, universal doubts, empathy, and disease. I hope you enjoy it and take a minute to listen to the whole song and remind yourself of our human, intrinsic capacity for empathy, love and companionship.
