Anup Sastry - Song 11 Play Through

Watch in HD!!! This is an original song by me. I plan on uploading a few videos like this where I play drum parts to original songs I write and record. This is part of my solo project I am slowing developing. I plan on uploading more videos/songs as I make them. All of the guitars are programmed/sample-based, just like my "Song 2" and "Song 9" play through.

I bought an Agile Septor 7 string a few months ago for my studio. I decided to write songs on the drums, this way I can use drum parts I write and really enjoy playing. I then record these songs on the drums. Then I use the Agile and basically take multi samples of notes/chords/mutes/etc. that I want to use for that song. I then arrange these samples to my drum parts. It seems like a long process, but I have started to develop a good work flow for this stuff, so its getting easier and easier. All of the clean guitar parts are me actually playing in this one.

This is just one of many that I plan on uploading! This concept of sampling the guitar and actually recording the drums is just an experimental thing I have wanted to do for a while now.

I plan on making this song along with my "Song 2" and "Song 9" available for download from my SoundCloud page in about a few weeks. I am still tweaking mixes and getting things to a point where I can be content with them online! haha!

@Steveninja1 Hey man! Its tuned fairly tight I would say. Its not absolutely cranked on there, but its pretty tight!

The shit you're writing is so... "deliberate" (it's a compliment I've gotten in the studio, best way I know how to put it), it's like you're psychic. That's such a cool method for making the guitar parts, and it sounds awesome. Its like the opposite of a guitarist using superior drummer for their solo songs. Its really cool to hear a solo song made from the mind of a good drummer.

@jajajah86 Using a killswitch that cuts the audio post-amp would have pretty much the same effect (but needs you to manually operate it), or playing along to a midi track that does the muting for you (but will require extremely precise timing). These are the best ways I can come up with.
