When I was a kid I remember a few of these landing in Sunset Park. Someone referred to them as King Homers and they were huge. Anyway, the Ecuadorian family that lived on the corner took them in. A few weeks later asked to see them and I was told they had used them to make soup. That really sucked.

I wonder if females do this mating dance. Because the pet store told me how to check if your bird is a male or female. It's under the breast bone towards the bottom of the body. If you feel two pieces of cartilage, it's a female. One solid cartilage, male.
So can it be possible for a female to do the dance?

@mibabco Yeah that took me a while to wrap my head around... A mating dance that also means "I'm the bigger man, bugger off!" .... Birds are so confusing!

my drink and my two step
It's a mating dance; it's also used with other males to show dominance.
