Jesus Pescador De Hombres - Lord, You Have Come To The Lakeshore (sometimes known as Seashore).
This beautiful Hymn is often sung in Spanish Churches as well as many American Churches now. The music was written by: Cesareo Gabarain and Harmonized by: Skinner Chavez-Melo. I am using some Strings with the Tremolo and playing it with much Spirit.

SPANISH:

1. Tú has venido a la orilla,
no has buscado ni a sabios ni a ricos.
Tan sólo quieres que yo te siga.

* Estribillo
Señor, me has mirado a los ojos,
sonriendo has dicho mi nombre.
En la arena he dejado mi barca:
junto a Ti buscaré otro mar.

2. Tú sabes bien lo que tengo,
en mi barca no hay oro ni espada,
tan sólo redes y mi trabajo.

* Estribillo

3. Tú necesitas mis manos,
mi cansancio que a otros descanse,
amor que quiera seguir amando.

* Estribillo

4. Tú, pescador de otros lagos,
ansia eterna de hombres que esperan.
Amigo bueno que así me llamas.

* Estribillo

ENGLISH:

1. Lord, you have come to the lakeshore (seashore)
looking neither for wise nor wealthy. You only wanted that I should follow.

*Refrain:
O Lord, with your eyes you have searched me, And, while smiling, have called out my name. Now my boat's left on the shoreline behind me; now with you, I will seek other seas.

2. You know that I own so little;
in my boat there's no money nor weapons,
You'll only find there my nets and labor.
*(Refrain)

3. You need the caring of my hands,
through my tiredness, may others find resting. You need a love that just goes on loving.
*(Refrain)

4. You, who have fished other oceans,
Ever longed for by souls that are waiting, my dear and good friend, as thus You call me.
*(Refrain)

Enjoy !

  • This past January, my pastor worked this into a worship service and I took an instant liking to it as it fit well with that Sunday's Gospel reading and plus my Aunt Polly is a fan of this hymn and it gave me an excuse to understand it better...

  • I remember John Paul II and Jesus everytime I listen to this. I know we should not worship John Paul II. We should worship Jesus and look at John Paul II as an example of HIS (God) divine mercy over us.

  • love this song, can u share our choir the music sheet for this song? thanks and God bless
