17 Port and Maritime Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps Homecoming Parade, Southampton 22/10/2009

Troops of 17 Regt RLC marching through the Bargate in Southampton on their return from Afghanistan and Iraq. They are heading towards the Civic Centre for medal parade and freedom of the city presentation. Anyone in Southampton watching this clip might have seen the small boy wearing the RLC beret sat on my shoulders while I recorded the troops marching through the Bargate. So Mr Singh the good people of Britain are starting to rise and reply to your comments. There is no longer a presence (of British troops) in the punjab. You are no longer under the protection of the British Empire. That means you sort your own problems out. So might I suggest you contact your own government and ask them what they are doing about your countrymen's problems and leave our extremely brave soldiers to assist the Afghan and Iraqi governments to sort out theirs?

Just remember those young men and women who make it possible for people like you to be able to voice whatever opinion they please however distasteful the vast majority may find it. Think about your own ancesters from the Indian Army who were amongst the bravest troops and who fought alongside the British in plenty of battles. At least you watched the clip!!
