Rosetta@home needs your help to determine the 3-dimensional shapes of proteins in research that may ultimately lead to finding cures for some major human diseases.
By running the Rosetta program on your computer while you don't need it you will help us speed up and extend our research in ways we couldn't possibly attempt without your help. You will also be helping our efforts at designing new proteins to fight diseases such as HIV, Malaria, Cancer, and Alzheimer's (See our Disease Related Research for more information).

Thanks for response. So let me get this right because I'm a little new to these programs, but Rosetta is for the purpose of trying to discover the dynamics of protein folding, am I correct?

Does anybody know how much of a load this puts on your computer. I know that Einstein Home doesn't really slow your computer down, but not sure about Rosetta.

I think Rosetta's load is comparable to Einstein's. I run both on some very old computers with no troubles. Even if the load was felt in any way, BOINC has various settings to minimize its presence.

Hi, can you please tell me how you launched the screensaver in a window, i am desperately trying to record it but neither fraps nor camstudio is able to record the boinc screensaver sucessfully.

If you're using BOINC Manager, launch it and click 'Show graphics' under the 'Tasks' tab.

I'll be honest, this screensaver function is about half the reason I dl'd the software :D

Folding@home is a beautiful distributed computing project and ran well for me when I was active there (during times that I ran out of SETI@home work) many years back.

For a short time F@h tried the BOINC platform which I also ran, but BOINC was abandoned by F@H.

I lost touch with F@H at that time because BOINC and the multiple projects are way more fun for me.
