the ice break ups began when the esso islands were built on the river it puts pressure on the ice and it breaks but not the same as it used too since water level gets lower every year

I remember standing on the banks of Ft Simpson, where the Liard and Mackenzie fork together, watching the ice move and experiencing freedom, knowing the river was opening, spring was here and summer was hot on the tail. Tks for sharing the video.
