Acento madrileño primer intento

¡Hola a todos! Como recientemente he publicado varios post sobre el acento andaluz, quería también subir un vídeo en el que rindo homenaje a la ciudad donde viví durante 10 meses. ¡Viva Getafe! Próxima estación: Arroyo Culebro.

Esta cita viene, de nuevo, de la peli "El laberinto del fauno".

" Hace muchos muchos años, en un país muy lejano y triste existió una enorme montaña de piedra negra y áspera. What are the main things one should think about when imitating a Madrilean accent o:?

@R0Y90 Well, there are lots of different accents in Madrid. Here's your guide to typical tough-guy, chain-smoker Spanish. 1. Strong /x/ sound (jjjoder). 2. Speak from the throat. 3. Of course distinction between c, z, and s like in most of North/Central Spain. 4. Discourse markers like: macho, pues nada, hombre. 5. S sound needs to be apical-alveolar rather than predorsal alveolar (almost sounds like sh, but not quite).

@BboyBells Jejeje muchas gracias BboyBells de hecho creas o no me lo han contado antes!! Sí, este tío habla con una voz muy chulesca y grave y como yo, cuando viví en Getafe, vivía con un tío ex-militar fumador macho (que era super majo, por cierto), aprendí a hablar como él.

Don't forget the "D" often morphing into a "TH" sound like "thing" in english.

@dychui Great advice, I'll definitely be taking all that into account. I tried listening to Cabreados and I can just barely understand it: it doesn't feel comprehensible. I feel like I'm on the cusp of understanding it but never can quite hold on. There are still a lot of gaps in my vocab and listening skills, so I'm trying to get better before I go back to listening to podcasts. I'm looking forward to your new videos though! Thanks again!

Would it matter if I don't understand completely what the people are saying in the podcasts? Also, I find it difficult to differentiate/pronounciation some sounds, e.g. "peRRo" y "peRo". How do I practise and improve my oral? (given that I don't have a full Spanish-speaking environment)
