Great video using what will likely be a new type of rod for me on one of my favorite streams in RMNP.
Thanks for the great shots.

@sugacackes it would have been near impossible to get into the high Sierra last March. You would have had to stay down low... If you get a chance this fall, or next year try the Golden Trout Wilderness. Lot's of smaller streams that produce a lot of wild trout...

I live in southern california and backpack the sierras all summer long. If you want really good fishing check out the mammoth area, places like hot creek, the upper owens, and the many high lakes and strreams around mammoth. another great place to backpack and fish is the golden trout wilderness in the south sierras. the upper kern, the little kern, and the south fork of the kern all have beautiful fish.

That is awesome, convenient, and very relaxing. I just learned about Tenkara today! Nice video!

It's a nice video and while I appreciate packing with such simplicity, I backpack with net and waders for the benefit of the fish as well as myself. Fishing with this Tenkara outfit will require sometimes banking the fish and it looks like this fellow is handling fish with dry hands. Yes, you get away with only ounces of fishing gear, but wild native fish deserve better if you are releasing them. With my waders and net, I can sometimes release the fish without even touching them.
