These shrimp dumplings (sometimes known as har gow, har gau, har gao, or har gaw) are a bit difficult to make, but make a fun and delicious appetizer!

  • I made these and they were sooooooo good. I didn't add the wine though because I don't drink. Thank you! They were super easy to make, but took a while.

  • @ViolinTreelet Thank you so much for trying these and commenting. I'm sorry I didn't answer your other question (below) in time - you could just leave them out, or substitute some cabbage or bean sprouts as well :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy Thanks for the suggestions. I bought bamboo shoots and used them. They tasted good, but smelled horrible.

  • Is it okay if I don't use bamboo shoots? What can I use as an alternative that's usually available in kitchens?
