"It is corporate media... It's not just MSNBC. You think that the CNN hosts can aggressively challenge government officials? I don't think so," says Uygur.

After almost six months into Cenk Uygur's corporate media career, MSNBC has decided to fill it's prime time 6:00PM slot with one of President Obama's biggest supporters, Al Sharpton.

MSNBC President Phil Griffin offered Cenk a lower profile position, but Cenk turned it down because he refuses to be a corporate sell out. The corporate news organization was getting nervous with the style and tone of the passionate host, so they held a meeting back in April and told Cenk that people in Washington did not appreciate his tone.

The news group has decided that Al Sharpton will preform as a better propaganda puppet, because they know he only has good things to say about the current government officials. Washington has nothing to worry about with this propaganda outlet.

Democracy Now! Speaks with Cenk Uygur to give you all the details of the recent fall out between the "Young Turks" host and the corporate media giant, MSNBC.

  • I'm actually amazed that Cenk ever got onto a mainstream media news program.

He's very passionate about politics and always call's people on their bullshit which was never going to go down well on any mainstream news program.

  • This is funny, not only is his story consistent, but he has no reason to lie. If this conversation he alleges hadn't occurred, it would be glaringly obvious that those were *his people*, and he'd have no reason to take off. But they weren't, and that's why he left. It's not a big mystery. That PR quote is bullshit.
