Komega demonstrates the ColorSynth production prototype

ColorSynths are MIDI controlled lighting fixtures designed for electronic musicians. They produce millions of colors, respond intelligently and musically to MIDI note and CC commands of all varieties, and the strobing effects range from millions of strobes per second to a few seconds per strobe.

The strobing affects are so intense that they have been known to cause visual hallucinations, especially in people who have taken hallucinatory drugs in the past. People who respond negatively to strobing (seizures, epilepsy etc) are cautioned to avoid exposure to ColorSynths.

This is the assembled ColorSynth production prototype. Thanks to Komega (http://komegamusic.com/) for all of his assistance with manufacture of the black fixture housing.

This is the pre-final production version of ColorSynth. With one or two tweaks to the design, I'll be cranking these out for large scale demonstrations and box sales.

This design features a single SUPERBRIGHT 3W RGB LED housed inside of an 8" globe. MIDI channel can be assigned via DIP switches, and DC power can be shared among multiple ColorSynths via unused MIDI pins 1 and 3.

For those less versed in MIDI, a ColorSynth VST control plugin is in development, as is a hardware remote control with an Audio input for non programmed light shows.

I will be building 50 Colorsynths and selling them for $160 each for individual orders, $150 each for two or more. They should be available hopefully in May/June of 2009.
