In 1964 marvin Gaye released "Hello Broadway" it was released as Tamla 259 in late 1964, it was another attempt at being a crooner, like he did with "When Im Alone I Cry" and "The Soulfull Moods Of Marvin Gaye"

  • Oh my gosh, this is it. I used to have this cassette and loved it. I lost the darn cassette, and have been trying to find it ever since. Thank you for putting this up ~

  • I'm very happy Marvin was so stubborn that he pushed and forced to be a crooner for years, even though he was never successful at that. I feel that's where he's at his best... He gave us several albums of this kind of material. And his version of "People" is marvelous! I purchased the CD for "Hello Broadway" on amazon, very satisfied! In the linear notes on the CD, it said he sang this song on one of the tv shows, man I would love to see/hear that if anyone has it!!!!

  • Marvin was not to be a crooner for its boring to his fans. The man had a gift and it was being the soul singer he was meant to be. His gift was there straight from gospel. Diana was not a soul singer but she carried standards well with her voice so she was able to win the Supremes over to that kind of music. Berry Gordy knew what fit his stars the best even though some protested Marvin included.

  • this guy's voice is hilarious - but informative. Thanks for the insight!

  • Great song great job by a great man. But why wouldn't motown let him record stuff like this I mean they let the Supremes do it.??

  • rare version man..good tune haunting voice
