Yes,it is totally inappropriate now because the UK is fast becoming a mixed-race/black nation and anyone who doesn't fully embrace and celebrate this is an evil racist (the worst crime anyone can be,next to paedophillia-Gary Glitter is the most evil man in the UK !!) Thankfully,though,the UK is fast becoming a mixed-race nation as lots of white women are very attracted to black men (and I should think the colour of his skin never has anything to do with it!)

@storebror21 Yes, I know. I watched it as well, often and the public loved it as gentle entertainment with the theatre tradition of 'Blackface'.This wasn't mocking black people, but a part of dressing up like in carnivals. People who loved REAL black entertainers like Louis Armstrong would not want to see them doing this, not because they weren't good enough,but it was a different kind of show. Real blacks didn't have white make up around their eyes & mouth did they ? People get wound up. Cheers

@TheKenfig I frequently watched this with my parents as a boy and nothing racist ever came to my mind. Sadly, those days of innocence have gone and PC has gone mad. As you rightly say, people watched this for the songs and costumes. Those who see racism in this are very sad indeed.

Brilliant singers and a great show in its day, why do people get eat up this race bollox? there was nothing racist about this programme, only the PC do gooders and alike who make problems out of nothing, get a life to anyone who thinks this is racist your all wankers
